Is that the sound of desperation?

Ugh, I feel terrible because I've been neglecting this poor little blog. Unfortunately I just don't know where to start. I've got a least 5 recipes waiting to be posted. Thing is, I never wanted this to be a food blog...so I was holding off in hope that something better (and non-food related) would come along. It hasn't, and in a fit of desperation I'm blatantly stealing an idea from my sister-in-law; posting about what I want for Christmas. And since I've have my two-front teeth for a while now, we're going to get down with the gross materialism of the season.

DMC's Travel Embroidery Case (not the mini one), I thought this would be nice for when I'm taking on those larger needlepoint projects. Bonus: I think it fits into my craft bag.

A 5pc set of OXO measuring spoons would also be nice. One can never have too many sets of measuring spoons.

Knowing that I'll be getting at least one book, I'm putting The Needlepoint Guide: A complete update of the classic guide by Jo Ippolito Christensen on my list a well as a few others.

I'm also looking at this square relish/chips & salsa platter from Anchor Hocking. I like the lines and the fact that it isn't the traditional round shape. But the Perfectionist Interior Designer in me is asking if it wouldn't be better to just get it myself. I'm not sure, but I know I like the appearance of this one.

Of course there are also the nearly mandatory CD's and DVD's...of which I'm having a bit of trouble narrowing down. For CD's there is Jet ~ Shine on, John Mayer ~ Continuum, All-American Rejects ~ Move Along, James Blunt ~ Back to Bedlam and Ok-Go ~ Oh No. On the DVD side I'm conflicted with easy to find vs. the laundry list of titles I've wanted for ages About a Boy, The Thomas Crown Affair, Ice Age 2 and the new Pride and Prejudice all top the list.

So yeah, that the beginning/rough draft of my Christmas list. I always have such a hard time with this, but hopefully I'll be able to find a few more smallish items to fill it out. Up next: Lilly's list, and boy is it long...especially since she got the Pet Dr's Christmas Catalog...or maybe just another recipe.
