Thanksgving: the recap

So this past week/weekend was BUSY! We survived Thanksgiving, as usual. The only hitch was that the turkey cooked faster than anticipated so instead of a 1pm dinner it was a noon dinner; but since Tim got off work early it was no big deal. Lesson learned and noted for next year. We spent the three days after Thanksgiving either driving or eating. Well it may not have been quite that way but it sure seemed like it. Holy food, I had forgotten how much my mom, grandma and aunts like to feed people! This past weekend was also the kick-off to a very busy holiday season. We are literally doing something every weekend until the middle of January. It's crazy, but hopefully it will be the good smile inducing, laughter creating, memory making kind of crazy. It's pretty much assured this time of year.

It's so nice to celebrate something like a 50th Wedding Anniversary. There was lots of visiting, reminiscing and a total sense of amazement at such a wonderful milestone.

We even managed to decorate for Christmas, complete with a new star for our tree. It's an aged brass that has been punched like the tin stars from the early 1900's. Target rocks.
